SolarHybrid

Title: Systemy hybrydowe do konwersji energii słonecznej
English title: SolarHybrid – Solar hybrid system for solar energy conversion
Comment: Project No. POIR.04.01.04-00-0019/19 co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund under the Smart Growth Operational Program for 2014-2020.
Project leader: Lodz University of Technology
Partners: FlexiPower Group Sp. z o.o. Sp.K.
Implementation: 01/12/2019 - 30/06/2023

Description: The aim of the project is to develop integrated hybrid photovoltaic panels using super-efficient cooling solutions. Two such solutions were selected: dedicated cooling plates (custom cold plate) and micro-channel cooling structures developed at the Lodz University of Technology with one of the highest heat removal efficiency in the world. Their task is, on the one hand, to cool photovoltaic structures to protect them from a decrease in efficiency caused by an excessive increase in their temperature, and on the other hand, to take over the part of solar energy that has not been converted into electricity and use it as heat energy.

In the hybrid solution, an increase in the efficiency of the photovoltaic part by 30% is estimated.
